Personal Reflection

Completing this Master’s Project has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my academic and coaching career. It pushed me during a tough time in my life. I had to step outside the traditional classroom and create something applied, practical, and impactful. Throughout the process of planning, interviewing, recording, editing, and presenting each episode. I had the opportunity to reflect deeply on my own leadership style and the role I want to play within the athletic world.

Listening to the stories of coaches like Chris, Cev, Robert, and Cameron reminded me why I chose the profession. To help guide, mentor, and help young people navigate both the challenges and opportunities that come with competitive sport. Each conversation brought forward themes of consistency, humility, resilience, and relationship-building.

This project strengthened my communication skills, expanded my professional network, and gave me a platform that I can continue building long after graduate school. Most importantly, it reminded me that leadership is not about authority; it is about influence, service, and the daily commitment to making people better. I finish this project more than prepared to contribute to athletic administration and continue growing as a coach who believes in developing athletes on and off the court.
